This role
As a Senior Front-End Developer, your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining our proprietary component library, as well as collaborating with a team of developers to create efficient, reusable, and dependable interfaces.
Roles & Responsabilities
The Senior Front-End Developer has a broad remit encompassing – but not limited to – the work areas below:
- Architect, build and maintain efficient, reusable, scalable and reliable front-end interfaces
- Architecting the web component library
- Write clean code to develop functional web applications
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Perform UI tests to optimize performance
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
- Identify bottlenecks, bugs and devise solutions to these problems
- Help maintain code quality, organization and automation, i.e. automated testing
- Follow emerging technologies
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
- Collaborate with designers to develop pixel perfect components
- Collaborate with back-enders to develop pixel perfect interfaces
- Maintain code and write tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
- Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features
- Gather and address technical and design requirements
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, trends and technologies.
Core Competencies
The successful candidate for this job will be enthusiastic about the responsibilities above, and will have a skillset which complements the job well, including:
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
- Solid understanding of web components
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
- Ability to implement automated testing platforms and different kind of tests
- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a component library
- Excellent understanding of front-end technologies and platforms.
- Stickler for high-quality code and clean architecture.
- Excellent analytical and time management skills
- Comfortable working in an Agile way, and to self-manage tasks and work flow
Required Skills & Experience
- BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years working experience ideally with digital agencies or tech start-ups.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, JavaScript and CSS
- Strong understanding of web components
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
- Familiarity with continuous integration
